HTC S740 Phone
September 4, 2008 | Cell Phone, HTC | 1 CommentThe HTC S740 looks different with the style copied from the HTC Touch Diamond, but the result is that the style may not be for everyone.

Under the S740 outside radical and unusual sliding QWERTY keyboard, the S740 is a non-conventional device touch screen 2.4 inch QVGA screen, 3.2 megapixel camera lens, the video call, quad-band GSM and GPRS and EDGE data, UMTS and HSDPA support in the 900 and 2100 MHz, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, USB 2.0 and microSD expandable memory. The HTC S740 is also integrated into the GPS / A-GPS and an FM radio, while running on above Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard operating system.

Internal Memory consists of 256MB of Flash and a 256 MB of RAM. The S740 processor is a Qualcomm MSM7225 running at 528MHz which should be broadly similar to the processor speed in the Touch Diamond.
It is a large, thin device to 116 x 43 x 16mm, and quite heavy at 140 grams, about halfway between the HTC Touch Diamond and HTC Touch Pro. Autonomy is up to 5 hours on 3G, 6 hours on GSM with about 16 days in standby mode. HTC said that the S740 will be available from September, but without giving any indication on price.
